Project Overview:
As part of a strategic effort to enhance power infrastructure for industrial-scale lithium extraction and processing, ACI-Systems Germany commissioned the supply of a high-capacity power transformer to support its advanced operations in Spain. This project supports Europe’s critical raw materials initiative, with the transformer playing a vital role in powering high-demand extraction and purification technologies.
Scope of Work:
- Design and manufacturing of a custom 50–55 MVA, 220 kV power transformer
- Adherence to stringent European grid standards and environmental requirements
- Delivery and coordination with site installation teams
Challenges & Solutions:
- Challenge: Managing harmonization between industrial process demands and local grid conditions
Solution: The transformer was engineered with reinforced insulation and adaptive cooling systems to ensure consistent performance under fluctuating industrial loads. - Challenge: Meeting tight timelines amid evolving European energy regulations

Outcome & Impact:
The successful deployment of the transformer has enabled ACI-Systems Germany to operate its Spanish lithium facility with uninterrupted, high-capacity energy. This contributes directly to the EU’s sustainable energy strategy and helps strengthen supply chains for electric vehicle battery production.
